Workshop #2: 3:30pm-5:30pm, Cost: $40 (early registration: $35, ends 3/27

Workshop # 1: Building A Core Foundation

During this workshop, Ryan and Stephanie will connect you to your core. By building core awareness, students will begin to explore the concepts of sthira and sukham – the steadiness and ease in every pose through a solid core foundation. Over the course of several hours, students will find a sense of lightness, ease of breath, and develop core sensitivity both on the hands and feet. Ryan and Stephanie will guide you through a safe and challenging sequence to develop the necessary strength integral to moving through your yoga practice with a sense of freedom. From abdominal strengthening to developing a sense of lightness, students will gain an enhanced sense of core and its application to their practice both on and off the mat.

Workshop # 2: Play and Have Fun with Ryan and Stephanie

Students will explore the core movements fundamental to arm balances and inversions. Ryan and Stephanie will guide you through an invigorating vinyasa practice to create mind, body, and breath alignment. Applying core strength and sensitivity, students will explore arm balances and inversions with a sense of playfulness and freedom. The subtle body core strength will also be explored through a guided meditation and visualization session. Learn to liberate your practice, free your mind and open up to the possibilities of balancing on your hands with confidence!

Ryan Besler Bio
Ryan Besler was raised in Alberta, Canada and lived the life of an active small town boy with a big imagination, full of curiosity and sense of adventure. When he wasn’t playing sports he was riding his motorbike or the family snowmobile. Ryan began practicing at Hot House Yoga in Virginia Beach and found At One Yoga once moving to Phoenix in 2006. There, he studied under Dave Oliver and Cheryl Hall, as well as many other inspirational instructors. Throughout his yoga practice and in his life, he has found ‘mastering the breath’ to be a powerful tool for managing stress, breaking mental barriers and embracing change. Ryan’s challenging power, core, and flow classes embody his belief that it is only from a strong center, (mentally, physically and spiritually) that we can move effortlessly through life. He intends to create opportunities in his classes for students to explore, play and grow. Ryan is currently working on his 500-hour certification while teaching classes across the Valley.

Stephanie Dempsey Bio
Stephanie fell in love with the practice of yoga as a means to calm the mind and heal the body. With a background in dance, Stephanie was immediately drawn to yoga. When she took her first class in 1999 in Santa Barbara she knew she had tapped into something that would be a part of her life forever. Stephanie practiced in Los Angeles, California at Yoga Works and Forest Yoga. Upon moving to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2006, Stephanie pursued her career as a yoga instructor. She studied with Alex Austin, Jenn Chiarelli, Vanessa Lee, Ian Lopatin, Carlos Santos and John Salisbury through the At One Yoga Teacher Training Program. In 2007, she received her 200-hour RYT certification. She realized that her spiritual journey in yoga was just beginning. Stephanie continued her yoga studies with Cintra Brown to certify as a Hot Yoga Instructor and most recently with Dave and Cheryl Oliver to complete her 500-hour RYT certification. Outside of the many inspirational teachers Stephanie has studied with at At One Yoga, Stephanie attributes her practice and teaching style to be strongly influenced by Brock and Krista Cahill and Dave & Cheryl Oliver. Stephanie teaches dynamic and challenging vinyasa flow, basics and power classes. Her classes are filled with opportunities to explore the core, play with arm balances and inversions and connect to a deeper sense of self. She inspires her students to move mindfully, to move with grace and to transcend their practice on the mat, off the mat. Stephanie’s classes will leave you feeling calm, grounded and blissful. She currently resides and teaches in Scottsdale, Arizona.
